Now retired, Douglas Moore served as president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 1632, City of Columbus Employees for more than 21 years. He was also regional vice president of AFSCME Ohio Council 8. During his years of service with the City of Columbus, Moore held a variety of progressively responsible union positions and helped develop innovative programs to improve relationships between labor and management in Columbus, including mediation, consumer and quality of life services for union members.
His community service includes work with the United Way and Traveler's Rest Missionary Church, where he is chairman of the trustee board and a male chorus member. Also a former teacher, Moore’s concern for the well-being of our community’s youth continues.
"My goal on the Board is to make sure that Franklin County Children Services continues to provide the top-of-the-line services to the children and families of our community that they always have," Moore said. "I would also enjoy helping to foster a positive relationship between labor and management at the agency."
