On August 5, more than 6,000 people attended FamJam, an outdoor family enrichment festival co-sponsored by FCCS and Mayor Andrew J. Ginther, for the 7th consecutive year. The free event was a huge success at the John F. Wolfe Columbus Commons. Local acts including: the Douglas Community Recreation Center Cheer Team, Lungu Vybz, Modeling with a Message Fashion Show, XClaim Dance and the Franklin Preparatory School Steel Drum Band performed on stage. The crowd was welcomed by Mayor Andrew J. Ginther; Columbus City Council Members Michael Stinziano and Jaiza Page; FCCS Communications Director Deborrha Armstrong; City of Columbus Department of Neighborhoods Director Carla Williams- Scott and Franklin County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Marc Goldstein. Columbus Council Member Shannon Hardin served as emcee. Attendees enjoyed complimentary snacks, while they visited more than 80 community resource booths. In addition, children explored vehicles provided by local safety forces.
